The push to “Save the Planet” and cut down on greenhouse gases, energy consumption, conserving natural resources and recycling to help with our landfills, has literally become a lifestyle choice. Many people in Philadelphia are finding new ways to help our environment. We will talk about the different methods you can use at home, work and commuting to do your part to help save our planet. It is not difficult to make small changes in your life that will go a long way towards preservation. Lets start with building Many Philadelphia construction companies and builders are using “green materials”. Green materials consist of locally grown or made items that can be used to build. For example, buying their materials from local companies that cuts down on shipping and minimizing the carbon emissions is a green practice. Using local labor and raw materials like wood are a good example too. Post Brothers Apartments use only energy and water efficient appliances in the apartments they build like their toilets, faucets, dishwashers, washing machines, and irrigation systems. This helps save money for both them and their tenants. Changing a few things around your home like these can seriously help the environment if everyone jumps on board and participates.

Thanks again to John Sherigan for letting me back onto his radio show Green Is Good. This time we broadcast on Sirius XM!!!
For “Green Living Guy” Seth Leitman, the green journey started as a child and blossomed during his Master’s program, where he became interested in different governments’ lack of eco-responsibility. His professional life has seen him focus on green transit, indoor air quality programs, green-building tax credits and a now series of green-minded books. Since his first appearance on Green is Good in 2011, where he promoted his first book, Leitman has penned eight more eco-focused books.
“It is more profitable than you can imagine to go green,” Leitman reveals. “That’s one of the things I always notice: the numbers. The numbers don’t lie.”
